Ways to Use These Free Printable Mitten Templates
There are so many great options for ways you can use these free printable mitten templates! Here is a list of different craft and project ideas for you to try!
Use Them for Sewing
These mittens are easy to print out, cut and trace onto fabric. You can print out the mitten size you need and simply cut pieces of fabric to sew together.
Embroider them and sew a loop on the top to make for adorable Christmas ornaments!
These mittens would also be great for beginner sewers or sewing by hand – you could easily do a whip stitch around the border to make plush mittens and more!
If you are a quilter, you could use these shapes for all sorts of Appliqué and quilt block designs to use for winter blankets, table runners, decorative wall hangings and more!
Use as Gift Tags
These would make for easy Christmas gift tag shapes – simply write the person’s name on it! You could print and cut these onto cardstock, construction paper or scrapbook paper for even more flair!
Make Tissue Paper Art
When we were in kindergarten, we were always making tissue paper crafts where you take squares of tissue paper, dip the middle in glue and attach to a page.
If you’d like to do this, we recommend printing the template onto cardstock so it is a sturdy surface to glue onto!
Make a Banner
These can be a fun and easy shape to use for banners! Simply cut out the shape and attach to a piece of twine or yarn to make a decorative winter banner!
Color Them!
A fun and simple classroom or homeschool craft – simply color and decorate them anyway you’d like! You can then cut out the shape and hang it on windows, your walls, or make a bulletin board display with them!
Create a Journal
Our largest mitten is 6 inches wide x 8 inches tall when printed out – which just so happens to be a great journal size!
If you’d like to make a mitten journal, we recommend joining the pages with binder rings. These are easy to use – simply punch a hole in the top of the pages and insert your ring!
For classroom journals, a stapler will also work for an economical way for students to create a journal for their own winter stories or poems! Be sure when choosing to staple the pages together you leave enough room at the top so the writing or artwork isn’t covered up!
These printables would also be great for junk journals – you could use these templates for individual pages or even use them to create pockets and tags!
