Common Questions About Lined Paper
Below are some of the most common questions about lined paper and the answers you need!
What’s the difference between college-ruled and wide-ruled paper?
The main difference between college-ruled and wide-ruled paper is the spacing between lines.
- College ruled paper has more narrow lines, spaced 9⁄32 inch (7.1 mm) apart.
- Wide ruled paper has wider lines, spaced 11⁄32 inch (8.7 mm) apart.
How can I Print Double Sided?
Printing double-sided lined paper is easy with most printers that support double-sided printing. Simply choose to make twice the number of copies for the number of pages you want to print. For example:
- Print 2 copies for one double-sided page
- 6 copies for 3 double-sided pages
- 10 copies for 5 double-sided pages
- 20 copies for 10 double sided pages
Once you select the number of copies you want to print, simply check the box in your printer settings to print double-sided. You will have double-sided paper in no time!
What’s the best paper for printing lined paper?
Everyone has different preferences for what kind of paper to use for their projects. Standard copy paper will work just fine for most projects!
If you want your paper to be sturdier, you can opt for 32 lb premium copy paper and if you want it to be very thick and stable you can choose to print on cardstock, although this is usually a lot thicker than you probably need!
How Do I Print Text on Lined Paper?
We are working on creating templates just for you! In the meantime, you can usually do this in most word processing documents by importing the image of the lined paper you want to use and then creating a text box.
You’ll have to adjust the font height and line height to make sure the text appears evenly on the page – remember that you can use decimals in these fields to help you get the right spacing and size!
Help! My printer is adding a border to my pages!
For best results to print your lined paper without a border or margin, make sure you choose “Borderless Printing” and “Actual Size” from your printer settings.
